Boot Camp!

 Classes will be held at Annadel Dance and Fitness on Saturdays at 8:30am.
 
 
I also host a weekly boot camp at my house which is a mixture or strength/resistance training as well as Kung Fu Fitness.

What is boot camp and why should you do it?

The term boot camp is borrowed from the military.  In terms of fitness, it only has a few similarities. These traits include the group atmosphere, some military style body weight exercises, timed intervals, and a trained leader. The main focus of my boot camp is to have fun and get you all in shape at the same time. I do not scream, I encourage in a normal voice and remind everyone that they need to work at their own fitness level. The reason why boot camps are great for all fitness levels is the timed intervals. Instead of saying “ok now everyone do 20 squats” and watching half the group stand around and wait till everyone is done, I say “do what you can in 60 seconds” and everyone finishes at the same time.

This keeps things moving at a good pace and it doesn’t draw attention to people who are just starting out and are not at the same level as everyone else. Another great thing about boot camps is the way people bond through the experience of exercise.

During these economic times, boot camps work because you all pay for 1 trainer for a fraction of the cost of 1 on 1 training and get a great workout.

So, the next time you see or hear the words boot camp………remember have no fear!! This isnt the Army! Keep an open mind and give it a try.
